    I have had some feedback from the Charfoos and would love to share it with you below.
    The only part you may want to check in with the guide is for their WWII day, it seems they were disappointed with the guide services that day.
    Thibault really stood out!
    Dinner at the Eiffel Tower was an unexpected highlight. I was worried it would feel quite touristy, but even so, it was such a special evening. They were extremely accommodating to our dietary issues and the food was really delicious. The views weren’t bad either – ha!
    For your notes, we ate at Petit Lutetia one evening and much to my children’s delight our server was so happy to patiently help them with their very limited French. We felt very local, but I’m guessing we fooled no one.
    The Dior museum was stunning! We all loved Versailles especially the gardens! Wow! Aaron and I weren’t able to see much of them during our last visit because the rain was so heavy.
    Our tour guide for the chapel and the Lourve (Pierre) was really wonderful! We all really enjoyed his style of guiding and he was terrific with keeping the the kids engaged on a really long, hot day.
    Our stay in Normandy was lovely! The guide/driver (his name was Teabow) who transported us to Normandy from Paris and took us to Monet’s house and gardens was everyone’s favorite! He was SO good at his job! Very engaging and incredibly smart and well studied. He honestly seemed to know everything!
    Visiting Utah and Omaha beaches was truly impactful and deeply meaningful. The one disappointment of the entire trip was our tour guide for this day. He was very new at the job and almost felt annoyed to be doing the work often walking far in front of our group (and we’re not slow walkers). We would have honestly had a more enjoyable day touring on our own without him.

    I wanted to pass along some feedback from the DeBow’s that I received on my call with them yesterday.
    Overall, the trip was a great success! They said their guides and drivers were excellent!!
    They were glad that they had the luggage van in Cannes.
    The said they would have stayed at La Reserve for another week if they could. They absolutely LOVED IT, the staff and location 5*.
    There was a power outage the day Erin and the girls were scheduled to go to Sainte Chapelle. Erin was appreciative of the flexibility of the guide to pivot and show them some other sites on the fly.
    They loved the Eiffel Tower tour and seeing the mechanics was a highlight. Great Louvre guide.
    The market tour in Aix in Provence was fantastic and the instructor was very good. The girls loved the cooking class and picking out everything from the fish monger to the vegetables.
    I realize that this was a big booking with a lot of moving parts. Thank you Wafa for staying on top of all the modifications and fine tuning the itinerary. Your responsiveness was superb! Anne you were great to work with as always!

    Chip and I both agree that this trip was one of our best ever! It was one of those magical times when everything worked out perfectly. Obviously the hotel is magnificent, and the staff is PERFECTION personified. They were helpful, friendly, down-to-earth, not to mention charming. We hated to say good-bye to them.
    All the planned activities/excursions were so enjoyable. The Descouvertes guides are consistently well-educated and passionate about their areas of expertise—we can’t say enough good things about them. Big shout-out to them all. And having the boat cruise the first night was definitely worth it. We loved seeing the city from the river, and it was a relaxing way to start the trip.

    It was an awesome trip. Here are our thoughts you can pass along to your partner for future bookings in Normandy and Paris.
    All of our tours in Normandy were well done. Our guides added several interesting stops not on the itinerary to fill the day and, at our request, one of our guides took us to the German cemetery. These extra stops added to our experience.
    We had four different guides for Normandy/Mont-Saint-Michel/Giverny. All provided us with good service. We feel it is important to mention that our first tour guide in Normandy (Thursday, May 15) was not as seasoned as we are used to having.
    Dan and I enjoyed the Hotel Tardif. The garden was lovely. We know hotel options are limited in Normandy, but for your future bookings, you should know that the airflow in our room was very limited. Our room was on the first floor, and the windows did not open, except at the very top which were impossible to reach.
    Our stay in Mont-Saint-Michel was interesting. You warned us about the quality of the accommodations on the island. What we didn’t realize was the effort it took to get to the island with our luggage. We weren’t prepared to get our luggage on/off the shuttle, over the bridge, and to the hotel reception area – it was a rough walk. Our guide was with us and helped, but it was still a struggle. Our room was on the fourth floor (five flights, as we started at ground level). Although the hotel staff offered to bring our luggage to us, we made arrangements to leave the bags at the reception area overnight. We were concerned about getting the bags down in time for our early departure the next day. We just took out of our bags the items we needed for the night. If we had to do it again, we would opt to stay a night in one of the hotels located on the other side near the bridge. This would still allow us to be on the island after hours, as a shuttle bus runs back and forth well into the night. BTW there is no special lighting after dusk. We stood on the bridge until well after the sun set, and just the lights that were being used were light.
    The stop at Giverny worked well. It is a place you don’t want to miss.
    We appreciate your assistance in making dinner reservations for us in Bayeux. They were all nice. I independently made reservations for one of our nights in Bayeux at L’Angle Saint Laurent (recommended by Therese). The food, service, and atmosphere were fabulous, and we would highly recommend. The food at La Mere Poulard was fine, but the experience was unpleasant because we swatted flies the entire time. The flies were out-of-control.
    We loved our stay in Paris. The three morning tours gave us a great overview of Paris, which left us the afternoon to explore on our own. Le Burgundy was a perfect location for Dan and I to walk to all the Paris highlights we had planned to see. Our guides were all great and Dan was highly impressed, especially with Audrey who guided us the first day (Tuesday, May 20).
    We had picture perfect weather everyday except for one drizzly day in Paris.

    We are home now and what a trip. I definitely want to go back to Paris and spend more time in this beautiful city. Here is my feedback on the trip.
    Airport Arrival: Exceptional! VIP service was something I would do again in a heartbeat with a group. Thank you for including this service.
    Hotel: Excellent! Great location – Rooftop bar was amazing! Staff was excellent .. service was simply wonderful. Overall rooms were modern, comfortable, and offered everything we needed for our stay.
    Restaurant: Le Bouillon Racine – Lunch – Excellent. The room was very hot as we ended up in Paris when it was 80F, but the food was very good and service was good, as well.
    Restaurant: Le Procope – Dinner – Excellent. The room they put us in was a sauna. Way to hot. It was hard to enjoy the meal because of how warm it was. They had us on the top floor, and if it would not have been so hot I think we would have enjoyed this more. But food & service was excellent.
    Guide – Sophie: She met us at the airport and was at the Louvre tour. Excellent! I would request her in the future.
    Guide – Elivira & Michele: Louvre visit – They were both wonderful and, in the future, I would request Michele for touring.
    Bus/Drivers: Excellent.

    The hotel was amazing! All the tours were fun, and the guides were really knowledgeable.
    Highlights:
    Reims: We were assigned to a VENEZUELAN (Carmensol is Venezuelan) guide at Dom Perignon! What are the odds?!?! Jonathan was excellent, and we enjoyed our time with him very much. What a treat.
    Painting: We had so much fun with Mark. He was very positive and encouraging. I was inspired to take on sketching – I am terrible at it, but it was so relaxing and mindful. We’ll see.
    Wine and Cheese: Audrey walked with us around Le Marais, taking the time to show us around and talk a little about historical facts on our way to the wine cellar. It was fun chatting with her and the cellar’s owner while sipping wine.

    Ellie says she “misses Paris”! She, and we, had a wonderful time. We had excellent guides for the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, and the side-car tour driver was great. She much enjoyed the perfume-making … I hadn’t realized we had signed up for 3 people (should have checked that), but my husband came with us, reluctantly, and ended up with a very nice “perfume”.
    And in a later email she added —
    Thank you. Another huge plus, BTW, was the hotel. The location was perfect, staff quite helpful and professional. The family room — one larger room and one smaller room, connected via interior door, each with a bathroom — was really nice for us. We highly recommend it.

    The Perrier Jouet experience, although expensive, made the trip for Amy and Caitlin – they were actually in the ‘home’ where no tourists travel – they felt very special.
    They adored Dom and thoroughly enjoyed Veuve – with the latter being a highlight but Dom tastier.
    I know this trip will be one for the record books. They thought Moulin Rouge was indeed kitschy but glad they experienced.
    Again, so many thanks – we appreciate all you did to make us look amazing. AND I know that’s what you do AND we are grateful.

    I wanted to sincerely thank you for everything you did to make our trip to Paris the most special and memorable trip ever!!!
    Our hotel was gorgeous. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. They upgraded us to a spectacular suite and our room was ready at 7:30AM when we arrived. The service, the restaurants, the bar, the Dior Salon, the Concierge, housekeeping , even the doorman were top notch.
    Our guides were fantastic, our favorite was the man who took us around Paris by Night. We ate at phenomenal restaurants. And the best was getting to see Notre Dame. Thank you for that!
    The weather was rainy and very cold but it made Paris look so pretty.
    I know Mark and I will visit again. But next time we will include a wine region. It really was a perfect trip. In fact Mark asked me why I booked such a short trip? HAHA

    Words are inadequate to express the wonderful service Decouvertes gave me and my family on my special “Birthday Trip.”
    We had quite a few problems with Air France and Delta but in the end… JORGE from your office came to the rescue and made the problems fade away. It was smooth sailing once we finally arrived.
    Unfortunately we missed the 1/2-day tour of Paris and the tour to Versailles, but due to the flights, it would have been impossible to take the tours without the grandchildren!!
    From the Meet and Greet service to the appointed drivers with transfers, it was seemless.
    Our tour guides were wonderful. The tour of the Eiffel Tower was exceptional; the Louvre, the LV museum, Dior, and Orsay were exceptional.
    The cooking class was such fun and loads of laughs with the chef!
    The lunches and dinners were good, and we finally were able to go into Notre Dame on Christmas Eve during Mass. It was fabulous!! Tickets were never available, but we arranged it anyway!!!
    It was a wonderful 4 days in Paris and enjoyed by all!!
    Again, thank you for all your time and help putting this special time together for me and the family…

    I absolutely LOVED my time in Paris with my guides and all they showed me. What a treat to get to experience what my clients are enjoying and to learn about how each guide has their specialties and are so eager to be flexible for the client’s whims and wishes. It could not have been more perfect.
    The hotels were all so charming and the staff were exceptionally attentive to me, making sure I was cared for, had anything I could think of asking for… it was overwhelming in the best way.
    I did come home quite sick and I’m still home trying to get well, but I promise it did not dampen my experience one bit. I only wish I could have stayed longer. Even my French was improving a little better day by day!!
    I have only the HIGHEST praise for my guides and for the boat crew. Everyone was beyond amazing, and I left Paris loving it more than I did before and hope to come back to my “home away from home” soon.

He quickly arranged and negotiated a room in the Hotel Madison where we had spent the last scheduled night of the trip which was fortunate as we overheard another traveler with a similar issue being denied a room because the hotel was full. During our trip Jorge checked on our experience in Normandy and again when we returned to Paris. Your agency is wonderful.     We had a wonderful time in Prague and also in Bordeaux at the Intercontinental.
    The concierge arranged a trip on Tuesday which took us to Arcachon. We had oysters on the bay then climbed the dune. So far, I think that was John’s favorite moment.
    We arrived at Chateau de la Treyne last evening and found it beautiful. Dinner in a small town nearby was memorable.
    Karen, our guide yesterday and today, was amazing and took us to St. Emilion on our way here. She is great.
    We look forward to the caves today.

    I just wanted to say thank you for all your help with our tour arrangements. Everything was perfect! All our guides were terrific, as well as our driver Tom who took us to Normandy. The guides were very knowledgeable and accommodating of our requests. They also made good recommendations for us. We had a great time. We got to experience the differences between some of the regions in France and learn about local foods and wines. I really was pleased with how smoothly everything went.

    London, Normandy, Paris & Krakow
    8:01am – depart London-Eurostar train to Paris…very comfortable and a good experience except for the obvious.
    11:30am – arrive Paris and drive to Normandy…2hrs and 45 min
    Lunch or snack… our guide, Valentin was exceptional. Incredibly helpful on the medical side and very informative, fun and kept us engaged.
    4pm Check-in to Hôtel Château d’Audrieu…concierge was not helpful but the facility is gorgeous. Breakfast buffet enjoyable.

    06/01/24 – 9am…all day D-Day…Valentin did an excellent job

    06/02/24 – checkout of Chateau 9am and drive Bayeux to Rouen

    We visited the basilica of St Theresa and attended mass and it was excellent. The guide was very good, polite and accommodating.

    There really are no words to express how meaningful it was for me to have walked and stood upon the hallowed grounds upon which so many Allied soldiers had fought and died there. It was fitting that the day we chose was overcast and somewhat windy with the unrealized threat of rain lurking behind the clouds, similar to the weather in the early morning of the June 6, 1944 D-Day invasion. Alain was not only a dutiful guide and teacher but, most appropriately for me, a man who clearly held in his heart a humbleness and deep respect for that which we could only imagine had taken place where we stood 78 years before. I think one would be sufficient for our group in the future. The diner cruise was great and the 3 hours went by quickly. The switch to a VW van was fine, we could not tell the difference.
