The French Cuisine Festival

The French Cuisine Festival (Fête de la Gastronomie) is an event that celebrates French flavours and gastronomy, created in 2011 by the Ministry of the Economy, Industry and the Digital Sector following UNESCO's decision to list the gastronomic meal of the French as part of humanity's intangible cultural heritage. 

The Darc Festival

Created in 1975, the Darc Festival Darc (Dance, art, rhythm, culture) takes place every year in August in Châteauroux.

In the first weekend of September, over 15 flavoursome walks are organised in the vineyards of Anjou, the Loire Valley and Touraine. The leading appellations are represented, like Saumur brut fines bulles, Saumur Champigny, Chinon or Vouvray. Each walk lasts for around 3 hours and is guided and hosted by a winegrower.

La Braderie de Lille

Lille street market has its origins in Lille Fair, which was first recorded in the 12th century. It takes place every year on the first weekend in September. Preceded by a semi-marathon on Saturday morning, it officially starts at 2 pm Saturday and finishes at 11 pm on Sunday, without interruption. 

Medoc's Marathon

The Marathon du Médoc is a French marathon race, created in 1985, held every year in September through the vineyards of the Médoc in the Gironde. It is considered "the longest Marathon in the world" because the race is interspersed with several activities: musical breaks with 50 orchestras scattered around the course, 23 wine tasting stops,[1] oysters tasting at the 38th kilometer, and steak at the 39th kilometer.

The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is a Group 1 flat horse race in France open to thoroughbreds aged three years or older. It is run at Longchamp over a distance of 2,400 metres, and it is scheduled to take place each year, usually on the first Sunday in October
