In the centre of the village of Bages, the Café Lavinal opened in 2006 and owes its name to Berthe Lavinal, grandmother of Jean-Michel Cazes. Welcome to this 1930's brasserie-inspired setting, complete with red moleskin bench seats, a zinc bar and eye-catching central lighting fixture. The ambiance here is warm and friendly, with amazing objects brought back by Jean-Michel Cazes from his travels and other souvenirs of his grandchildren’s summers in Bages. Adjacent to Château Lynch-Bages, it is a popular place for winemakers and locals wanting to catch up over a hearty meal or a glass of wine in authentic surroundings. This warm and welcoming bistro is open from breakfast through til dinner serving a simple, traditional and tasty market-inspired menu made from regional produce under the careful eye of Chef Jean-Luc Rocha. In good weather, its sunny terrace is perfect for appreciating its stunning views and prime location. The wine list offers over 120 references of wines from Bordeaux and elsewhere.

Once upon a time, there were two young and handsome boys from Provence, born in Istres... They were introduced to the cuisine trade very young thanks to an Italian grandmother. Stephane chose to work in the kitchen and gained experience in famous restaurants such as La Bonne Auberge (Antibes) or Hiely (Avignon) and Olivier has opted for service and welcome. The restaurant named "Les 2 Frères" has a beautiful decor, nice materials and beautiful ideas like an enormous terrace with bamboos and exotic wood; nothing is lacking here, and there is even a screen to follow the work in the kitchen !

Today he takes care of the Pré aux Clercs, a restaurant which gained international reputation in the 1960's.
The decoration is not exaggerated for a bit: simple but bright will let you enjoy the specialties of the establishment such as snails, juicy steaks or cream peas along with fine wines.
Classic ? Yes. But a sure value.
