La Chope, which dates back at the beginning of the century, offers clients fresh and traditional food; various fish, oysters and shellfish are bought from nearby fishermen, and the establishment also proposes a very good brasserie service. But the sea not the only dish available, guest can taste delicious meals like roasted pig with mushrooms, grilled calf and of course fois gras. La Chope is maybe the best brasserie in Tours, and a must for seafood lovers !

In the heart of Touraine and the Loire Valley castles, discover this restaurant, a symbol of Touraine gastronomy. La Roche le Roy, a few minutes from downtown Tours, is a charming manor house typical of the architecture of 18th century Touraine. The restaurant was opened in 1987 by Alain Couturier, converted from a privately owned house and is surrounded by a beautifully maintained park. Alain Couturier, Master Chef of France, prepares meals putting the spotlight on traditional French dishes. During the summer months, meals are served in the lovely shaded terrace. The dining rooms are decorated in refined and sober tones of ochre and yellow creating an immediate feeling of intimacy.

The yellow and orange shades, the mahogany, and the soft carpet make this awarde winning restaurant an elegant and intimate place. The veranda (that overlooks a small garden) floods the room with light; a magnificent setting that helps the guest savour very refined cuisine such as Spicy Lobster or Royal Hare. Here Lussault, who succeeded Charles Barrier, even surpassed expectations.

Right in the centre of the historical part of the Bessin's capital, Le Pommier restaurant offers its guests a very refined and relaxing atmosphere. Straight after walking threw the front door, the elegance of the place will catch your eye. Reminding you of the cosy spirit of the modern Parisians brasseries. The first dinning room has a large wall seat , which goes from an end to the other; the second one is heated up with a large chimney and the third one opens directly on the garden with a gigantic vintage fire place. The owners Isabelle and Thierry Lhuillery are strongly attached to the region, which displays lot's of famous specialities. Their cooking is both original and typical. The owners know pretty well the local producers, with whom they have been working for many years. When the ingredients are cooked, it is always in the respect of their original flavour, only spices and fresh herbs are added in order to make the best come out of them. Enjoy eating fresh sea food straight from the coast; try our daily raw marinated fish course, or a slice of duck foie gras flavoured with apple fragrances. And finally to put a pleasant end to this perfect meal try a chaudfroid apple dessert...

Café des Epices has the same spirit as its manager Arnaud Carton de Grammont and his wife Sophie: it is sparkling and audacious, with a kind of relaxed attitude that changes everything. Like the name suggests, spices are everywhere! In 2003 Arnaud was awarded by the Nova Fooding guide. Alone in his tiny kitchen, he responds to the changing lifestyle of food lovers, works on all registers and offers creations that are at once traditional and innovative: crusty oysters on creamed jerusalem artichokes; Saint-Jacques julienne; cod with shredded vegetables; orange-chocolate mousse etc. This cuisine is dense, incisive, and prices are very reasonable too.
