Oradour-sur-Glane is a commune in the Haute-Vienne department in west-central France. The Original Village was destroyed on 10 June 1944, when 642 of its inhabitants, including women and children, were massacred by a Nazi German Waffren-SS company.

The name of the village rests attached to that awful massacre. The village is now divided into the old ruins, which serves as a reminder of the suffering and martyrdom of its people and the new village built a couple of decades after.
