A new Louvre in Sens

The Musée du Louvre-Lens is currently under construction in a magnificent 20-hectare park located 200 km from Paris. The minimalist building has been designed to fit perfectly into the site – a former mine yard allowed to return to nature – by famous SANAA agency architects Ryue Nishizawa and Kazuyo Sejima.

The new museum will be brought to life by flagship works from the Louvre, which will be shown on a rotating basis, and temporary international exhibitions. The museum layout and space design will harmoniously bring together different types of innovative cultural education tools using the latest technology. Interactive displays, screenings, exhibit companion pieces and more will enhance the exhibitions to create an unprecedented journey into the collections of the Louvre. Come to Lens on 4 December
2012 and discover a new Louvre!
