Built in the XVth century, this former mansion was for a long time the residence of the noble persons who accompanied the court of the sovereigns - with Kings of France to emperors Napoleon Ier then Napoleon III - during their stays in Fontainebleau.

Under the reign of Louis XV, this noble residence was gradually converted in luxury hotel to be able to welcome the tourists and the personalities of passage in the historic city. Since then, the hotel knows periodically transformations and embellishments intended to adapt it to the needs for a clientele become international.
